Customisation options
All of our products are customisable which means you will be sure to find the perfect solution for your project. Our Mobile Options allow for rapid deployment, the Waste Handling Systems simplify operating the incinerator and our Pollution Control Systems can be added for volatile or hazardous waste streams if needed. Energy Back-Up Systems can also be included where power is inconsistent. Details of compatible options can be found here:
How to handle contaminated waste
As with Ebola, the suggested approach to Marburg infected waste disposal is incineration (As stated by the WHO and UN in their recent reports).
Our mobile incinerators allow for rapid deployment and in these circumstances time is everything. Our medium to large models can have heat exchangers added (that provide the ability to generate heat or hot water from your waste to use for further cleaning or sterilization).
Incineration is the preferred disposal method
The World Economic Forum state:
“Infectious diseases, which are among the leading causes of death worldwide, do not confine themselves to national borders. Their capacity to spread rapidly across geographies – jeopardizing social and economic security as well as challenging human health and well-being – is amplified by ever-growing globalization, increased trade and travel, the rise in urbanization, and changes in the environment, behavior and society.”
Until now, there have only been 12 outbreaks of the Marburg virus in the 50 years since its discovery. Typically, outbreaks of Marburg fever involved a handful of cases. This changed in 1998 when more than a 150 cases of Marburg fever were reported in the DRC. The largest and most fatal outbreak of Marburg fever occurred in Uige in Angola 2004-2005. More than 250 cases reported with a fatality rate of 90%.
